New Publication
I’m happy to share that our new article, “The Holographic Atatürk: From Commemorative Pageantry to Technological Resurrection,” has just come out in Celebrity Studies. Together with Utku Can Akın, we look at how holographic Atatürks rework the founding father’s image through digital resurrection, necro-branding, speculative realism and new forms of political pageantry.
If you’re interested in celebrity afterlives, digital resurrection, and the politics of iconic dead leaders in a platform age, I think you’ll find it a thought-provoking (and occasionally weird) read.
